Leading Brands to launch more than 90 new Helmet models with MIPS at Eurobike 2016

Swedish safety technology brand MIPS will have a prominent position at Eurobike as the
company and its brand partners are introducing more than 90 new helmets incorporating
MIPS Brain Protection System. With models for on and off- road riding in every conceivable
category, MIPS-equipped helmets are now available to fit just about any rider’s needs.
“The wide adoption of MIPS that we are seeing is the result of the nearly 20 years of
dedicated study on the science of how the human brain is affected by energies resulting from

Today’s helmets are produced, tested and certified mainly to protect against straight
impacts. In real life, the most common type of impact is angled (30-45 degree). Angled
impacts can create rotational motion that can be transferred to the brain. This rotational
motion can cause minor to severe strain in the brain. MIPS Brain Protection System has
been designed to address these types of energy that the brain is exposed to during a typical
fall for a bicyclist.
MIPS at EUROBIKE 2016

manufacturers displaying the latest technology, the Eurobike bicycle trade fair in
Friedrichshafen, Germany is the premiere cycling industry event of the year. MIPS
