STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, May 26, 2026 – Mips, a global leader in helmet-based safety, today announces a partnership with Dräger, an international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology. The partnership stems from the joint belief in innovation and technology in safety and will be centered around helmet development and the optional integration of the Mips® safety system in the Dräger HPS® SafeGuard, a next-generation fire and rescue helmet designed for a wide range of emergency response scenarios. This would be the first helmet to include the Mips technology in the fire and rescue segment.

Mips’ technology is designed to help reduce harmful rotational motion to the head in certain impacts, for users in demanding environments. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions and more severe brain injury in oblique hits to the head. The Mips system consists of a low-friction layer mounted inside the helmet. In an angled impact to the head and helmet, the low friction layer is designed to move 10-15mm inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. This is intended to help reduce the risk of brain injury. Helmets equipped with the Mips technology can be found in a wide range of applications, from bicycle helmets to industrial safety helmets, from skiing, to motorcycling, equestrian riding and more.

“At Mips, our mission is to be leading the world towards safer helmets. And in Dräger, we have found a great partner to do so. The collaboration brings together two teams that are dedicated to advancing helmet development. It will allow us to explore our technology in a field where safety is paramount and where innovation can make a real difference,” says Olof Rylander, Senior Business Developer Safety at Mips.

Dräger develops advanced head protection systems designed to support firefighters and rescue teams operating in complex and hazardous conditions. Head protection, and the proper use of it, is key for keeping firefighters, rescue teams and first responders safe.

“We are very excited about this partnership with Mips, as it reflects our shared ambition to advance head protection for firefighters and rescue teams. The HPS SafeGuard will be the first fire helmet to be equipped with the Mips safety system, addressing a clear customer need for even better protection in high demanding firefighting and rescue environments”, says Markus Lamm, Product Manager for fire and rescue helmets at Dräger.

The partnership will be unveiled for the first time at the Interschutz 2026, the world’s leading trade show for fire and rescue services, civil protection, safety and security, by presenting this new, innovative collaboration on the Dräger booth G46 in hall 27. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing helmet safety for fire and rescue professionals.

The eight-time World Champion alpine skier partners with leading helmet safety brand Mips to raise awareness about the importance of addressing rotational motion in high-performance environments

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — [January 8, 2026] — Mips, a global leader in helmet-based safety technology, is proud to announce that Mikaela Shiffrin is joining the Mips athlete team. As a vocal advocate for athlete health and safety, Shiffrin’s partnership with Mips underscores a shared commitment to performance, safety, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, on and off the slopes.

“Safety is a non-negotiable part of my performance,” said Shiffrin. “To compete at the highest level, I need to trust that every piece of my equipment is doing its job, especially my helmet. What gives me confidence in Mips is how much effort they put into understanding the kinds of impacts we actually experience in our sport. Knowing how rigorous they test their solutions against rotational motion, allows me to focus fully on skiing, and perform at my absolute best.”

Mips technology is designed to help redirect rotational motion away from the head in certain oblique impacts, which are one of the most common causes of brain injury. While many traditional helmets primarily address linear forces, helmets with the Mips safety system include a low-friction layer that is designed to allow the head to move 10-15mm inside the helmet during impact, helping to redirect harmful rotational motion.

For any athlete, professional or not, this added layer could make a critical difference.

“Welcoming Mikaela to the Mips team is an incredible milestone,” said Max Strandwitz, CEO of Mips. “Her commitment to the sport and to pushing boundaries aligns well with our values and the Mips mission of leading the world towards safer helmets. Her decision to wear a helmet equipped with Mips technology truly sends a message about the importance of addressing rotational motion at every level.”

With close to 100,000 tests conducted in the Mips lab, and partnerships with helmet brands across cycling, snow sports, motorcycle sports, equestrian disciplines, and occupational safety, Mips continues to lead the charge in advancing helmet safety.

Strengthening world-leading helmet safety technology portfolio with complementary technology

Stockholm, Sweden – Mips AB (publ), a world-leader in helmet-based safety, has signed an agreement to acquire Koroyd. Koroyd is a pioneer in the development of advanced impact protection technology for head and body safety, which is complementary to Mips’ technology. The merger combines the knowledge of two innovation-driven companies, dedicated to advancing protection for consumers and professional users.

On December 11, 2025, Mips announced its acquisition of Koroyd, strengthening the company’s world-leading helmet safety technology portfolio with complementary technology. Recognizing the potential synergies between the two brands and their respective technologies, Mips and Koroyd will continue to operate separately under their respective leadership teams.

The acquisition of Koroyd marks another important step in Mips’ long-term strategy to strengthen our position as the leader in helmet safety. This acquisition positions the group uniquely in the market and enables interesting entries into other adjacent product areas. The acquisition is in line with our strategy and also serves as a springboard into adjacent product safety areas”, says Max Strandwitz, CEO and President of Mips, adding:

The brands will continue to operate separately under their respective strong leadership teams, but we jointly see exciting synergies, especially in product development and marketing, as well as in the strength of combining knowledge from two fantastic innovation-driven companies. This acquisition expands our offering in advanced protection solutions and helps us continue to drive the development of safer products for consumers and professional users.

“From the beginning, Koroyd has been built on a culture of purposeful innovation, solving real problems with solutions that genuinely improve protection whilst putting the user experience first. In Mips, we have found a partner who shares that ethos entirely”, says John Lloyd, Founder of Koroyd.

“Together, I am convinced that this combination will accelerate our diversification strategy. Our technologies are naturally complementary and together form a platform that strengthens partners, delivers on the strong demand for both brands and expands what is possible in protection. Above all, it’s the shared values, collaborative mindset and long-term vision that make this partnership a natural evolutionary step. This shared foundation makes the future extremely exciting, and I couldn’t be more enthusiastic to be part of building it”, adds John Lloyd.

In addition to being the official safety partner of the MXGP and long-time sponsors of the Honda HRC MXGP team; Prado joining Team Mips further enforces the company commitment to motocross and the advancement of rider safety within the sport.

“Joining Team Mips is an exciting step for me,” said Prado. “In motocross, every detail counts — and helmet safety is a huge part of that. I’m proud to work with a brand that’s constantly innovating to protect riders like me.”

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN; April 18, 2024Mips, a global leader in helmet-based safety, and Husqvarna, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of innovative forest, lawn and garden products, today announces their official partnership to amplify helmet safety for the forestry industry.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, forestry is among the industries with the highest fatality rate of all occupations. Of the common accidents that workers experience, struck by incidents can cause a range of injuries, from cuts and bruises to traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and fatalities.

Proper PPE usage, and head protection in particular, is critical to keep forestry workers safe. Most helmets available today are designed to protect workers from linear impacts, or those directly to the crown of the head. Yet the majority of accidents occur at an angle, therefore exposing the wearer’s head to rotational motion – a leading cause of TBIs.

Together, the two Swedish-based organizations Mips and Husqvarna will launch a forestry helmet equipped with the Mips® safety system later this year. This will be the first Husqvarna safety helmet with Mips technology and also the first helmet with the Mips safety system in the forestry industry globally.

“Husqvarna is an industry leader in developing solutions for the field of forestry,” says Max Strandwitz, CEO at Mips. “We are thrilled to partner with them to bring our safety technology to the forestry industry, and to expand to this industry as we continue true to our mission; to lead the world to safer helmets.”

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Mips, pioneers in head protection technology. By incorporating Mips’ advanced safety systems into our helmets, we aim to enhance the level of safety for Husqvarna users worldwide, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to setting high standards of safety in the industry”, says Carl-Magnus Lunner, Product Manager Head PPE & climbing equipment at Husqvarna.

Leading helmet manufacturers are trusting Mips due to seamless integration and their aim to exceed safety standards.

Stockholm, Sweden; April 10, 2024 – Mips, a global leader in helmet-based safety and experts in dangerous rotational motion, is expanding its solutions and integrations into more helmets and styles. Led by its recently announced innovative Virtual Test Lab (VTL) and new solutions like Mips® Integra Split, Mips® Air Node and Mips® Integra TX, over 150 helmet manufacturers (in categories like bike, snow, moto, equestrian etc.) around the world trust the Mips safety system to be added to their products.

The classic yellow Mips low friction layer that most people have seen in helmets for years is still there. But most new helmets with Mips technology today feature a system that is even more integrated and sometimes almost invisible when you look inside the helmet.

“We’re committed to making helmet-based safety more accessible to everyone,” said Mips CEO, Max Strandwitz. “By expanding our range of solutions and integrations into more helmet models and styles, we’re making it easier for riders and other helmet users to choose the helmet best fitted for their needs, taste in style, and fit. But for Mips, progress and innovation don’t stop there. We view industry standards as a baseline, not a finish line. We’re constantly pushing the boundaries of helmet safety through research and development, true to our mission: to lead the way to safer and more sustainable helmets.”

All Mips safety systems are engineered to meet the same criteria within redirection of rotational motion and are designed to provide safety beyond industry standards.

Mips provides a wide range of solutions to meet the differing needs of the many types of helmet users. Please see the different solutions listed below and you can see more from the whole range here;

Mips® Essential Core: Designed to help reduce rotational motion in oblique impacts through low friction. Simple, yet efficient. A perfect introduction to the Mips safety systems, it can be found in helmets used for bicycling, horse riding, motorcycle riding and skiing.

Mips® Evolve Core: Mips Evolve Core is a system designed for use in a wide variety of helmets intended for activities such as skiing, horse riding, bicycling and motor sports. With its refined fit and light construction, Mips Evolve Core has become our most popular helmet safety system.

Mips® Air Node: Fasteners are designed to release at oblique impacts to help redirect rotational motion. The Mips Air Node system provides omnidirectional movement with minimal changes to the original helmet. It is especially suitable for highly ventilated, lightweight helmets, as the system itself adds practically no extra weight or volume.

Mips® Elevate Core: Rotational movement for harness helmets in oblique impacts. Hard hats were initially developed to protect against falling objects and are now used for workplace safety throughout the construction industry and many other workplaces.

Mips® Integra Fuse: A premium solution for omnidirectional movement. The system is comfortable, and durable, and adds no stack height to the helmet. It can be found in helmets used for biking, skiing, motorsports and horse riding.

Mips® Integra Split: The design of the Mips Integra Split provides seamless integration, a comfortable fit and gives designers freedom to incorporate greater ventilation in the helmet. The system provides omnidirectional movement for helmets with ample EPS coverage.

Mips® Integra TX: An invisible solution that provides omnidirectional movement. Mips Integra TX is useful in moto, equestrian, and snow helmets, where comfort is vital. The system is integrated in the comfort padding and is attached to the helmet with hook-and-loop fabric or existing attachment points inside the helmet.

As more helmets utilize the Mips safety systems, consumers demand progressively more integrated versions of the systems. Mips aim is to minimize the presence and visibility of the safety system without compromising the level of redirection of dangerous rotational motion to the head for any of its products. Mips® safety system creator reports reduced carbon emissions, circular product offering, DEI initiatives (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), and more.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN; March 22, 2024Mips, a global leader in helmet-based safety, just unveiled its 2023 Sustainability Report. Detailing the organization’s continued dedication to implementing sustainable practices across its products (environment), employees, supply chain, and products (helmet safety), the report reveals that Mips has reduced emissions (Co2e) per solution by an average of 20.8% compared to 2022.

Mips is increasingly committed to more sustainable practices throughout each facet of the organization to limit environmental impact, applying those values in its value chain, and prioritizing social and workplace responsibility for employees. It continues to participate in the UN Global Compact, whose guiding principles are incorporated into Mips’ Code of Conduct and daily operations, and supports the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Mips also adheres to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, focusing and aligning on the specific goals where the company can maximize its impact, in addition to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) to understand and communicate its environmental impact.

Mips puts a great level of dedication into its sustainability efforts. The company’s analysis of sustainable practices includes everything from its products’ raw materials, manufacturing suppliers, wellbeing of employees, gender equality, social responsibility, and more.

Some highlights from the report, and how Mips achieved these results include:

  • Reduced emissions (Co2e) by an average of 20.8% per unit sold compared to 2022; Made possible by analysis of climate impact through the GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Protocol, clear data on emissions from raw materials used and manufacturing suppliers, and the use of post-industrial recycled plastic in certain of Mips’ solutions as described below.
  • Offered suppliers 100% post-industrial recycled plastic for, among others, Mips’ most sold solution, an important step in providing a circular product offering, which includes CO₂-neutral manufacturing and the use of recycled and recyclable materials.
  • Performed three third-party audits of its three most strategic suppliers to ensure a thorough evaluation of their compliance with Mips’ Code of Conduct and the ten principles of the UN Global Compact.
  • Achieved and surpassed a breakdown of 46/54 percent distribution of women to men in the workplace, including its Chinese subsidiary, as Mips actively works to reverse the trend of a male-dominated helmet industry.

During the previous year, Mips had worked closely with various stakeholders to rank 23 areas of sustainability to prioritize, in what has been summarized as a materiality analysis to ensure Mips’ sustainability efforts are moving the needle. Both Mips and its stakeholders believe raw material is the area where Mips can have the greatest impact, and research has been done into its raw material usage, emissions, bio-based plastics, and a circular product offering.
