Falling is part of
mountainbiking.

It happens. Your front wheel washes out. Your pedal hits a rock. Handlebar clips a tree. When you’re pushing your limits, trying to ride new lines, or digging deep to shave a few seconds off your time, there are risks. Sometimes taking chances is part of the fun.

Checklist for picking a Mountain bike helmets

There are many factors when choosing your perfect mountain bike helmet. Here are a few to consider:

  • What type of mountainbiking?

Are you riding XC, trail, enduro or DH? Whatever MTB style you love most, there’s a Mips®-equipped helmet made just for you.

  • Competition or fun?

How serious are you about your riding? A dedicated XC racer may consider weight first. An enduro or trail rider is probably more interested in all-day comfort and durability.

  • Safety

Make sure the helmet meets Europe’s General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) standards.

  • Climate

Do you ride primarily in warm weather? Cold? Rain? Different mountain bike helmets can make your experience more enjoyable depending on the elements you ride in most often.

  • Rotational management

Make sure the helmet is designed with a low-friction layer that’s intended to help reduce rotational force to the head during certain angled impacts.

  • Comfort and fit

Everyone has their own unique head shape and fit factors. It’s important to consider everything from sizing to retention systems and straps.

What is a Full-face MTB helmet?

If you are into MTB cycling, and more specifically downhill or enduro, you may want to consider a full-face MTB helmet. A full-face helmet is designed to offer better protection than a conventional bike helmet when shredding down the slopes, aiming for the big jumps and berms. Nowadays, full-face MTB helmets are lighter and more ventilated than before.
