Privacy is important to us and we strive for a high level of protection in all processing of personal data, from the collection and use to the erasure of personal data. Our aim is to ensure that all personal data processed by us should be kept safe and secured at all times and that the personal integrity is respected.
We process personal data in accordance with the general data protection regulation (“GDPR“) or, for our companies outside of the EU/EEA, other applicable personal data protection legislation.
This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) applies to anyone visiting mipsprotection.com and mipscorp.com, including services offered through related sites such as mipsbrandguidelines.com, which are together referred to as “MIPS Sites”, as well as to anyone using our services, products or otherwise interacting with us such as customer representatives, representatives of potential customers, supplier and distributor representatives or sales persons. However, this Privacy Policy does not apply to MIPS employees or employee candidates.
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information will be treated as you use the MIPS Sites, our services, products or otherwise interact with us.
MIPS is the data controller for personal data processed when someone uses our website or otherwise contacts us. This means that MIPS is the data controller also for personal data processed about website visitors. MIPS is further the data controller of personal data relating to customer and supplier representatives and people who use our products and services or otherwise interact with us.
This also means that MIPS is the data controller for representatives of potential customers or suppliers who are either website visitors who submit personal data through any of the forms on the MIPS Sites or otherwise contact us or people who might be interested in our products and services whose information we got from other sources.

MIPS will never use your personal data for any other purposes than those listed in this Privacy Policy, unless we collect your written consent or inform you prior to initiating any processing for new purposes or a purpose that is compatible with the purpose for which we collected the personal data, all in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
We may share personal information with members of the MIPS group for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
Your information may also in certain cases be accessed by third party service providers who we cooperate with and who will process that information solely for our benefit and in accordance with our instructions and this Privacy Policy. However, we will not provide your personal information to or share it with any third party for their own marketing purposes except in connection with requests you make that clearly involve third parties.
Some of the third parties that we share personal data with are independent data controllers. This means that we are not the ones that dictate how the data that we provide shall be processed. When your data is shared with independent data controllers their data policies and personal data processing principles apply.

This means that we as an example will only keep your data for as long as necessary for the performance of a contract and as required by applicable laws. We have not reviewed the Third Party Sites, do not control and are not responsible for any of their content or their privacy policies, if any. We do not endorse or make any representations about them, or any information, software or other products or materials found there, or any results that may be obtained from using them. If you decide to access any of the Third Party Sites linked to from MIPS Sites, you should understand that you do so at your own risk.
If we transfer your personal data to a third country, i.e. a country outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we will comply with all applicable laws in respect of such transfer, including making sure that your personal data is kept secure, and ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to ensure there is adequate protection, such as entering into contracts in the form approved by the European Commission, so called Standard Contractual Clauses.
MIPS operates worldwide, such as in China, and may therefore share your personal information outside of EEA to other members of the MIPS group for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and we base such transfers and processing on the Standard Contractual Clauses. You can access a copy of the relevant EU model clauses used by us for transfers by entering the European Commission’s site.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to prevent that your personal information is used for non-legitimate purposes or disclosed to unauthorized third parties and otherwise protected from misuse, loss, alteration or destruction. Such technical and organizational measures are designed to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risks that are associated with our data processing activities.

If you choose to object to our further processing of your personal data as described in this Privacy Policy, please note that we may no longer be able to provide you with the services you have requested and may therefore terminate relevant agreements with you. Please note that there are exceptions to the rights above so for example access may be denied where we are legally prevented from making a disclosure.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint to a Data Protection Authority if you believe that your personal information has been collected or used in breach of relevant privacy regulation. If you are located in the EEA, this will be the Data Protection Authority in the country in which you are located. You may also seek a remedy through local courts if you believe your rights have been breached.
MIPS Sites and services are not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If we receive personal information that we discover was provided by a child under the age of 16, we will promptly destroy such information.
Currently, MIPS does not carry out any processing that is defined as solely automated decision making, including profiling, that has legal effects or otherwise significantly affect you.
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activities. You may set your browser not to accept cookies. However, in a few cases some of the MIPS Sites features may not function as a result.
