Built to Endure

A seamless moisture control system that uses Coolmax® fabric, sweat-directing channels, and a dedicated drop zone to move moisture away from the face.

Traditional helmets are designed and tested for straight impacts, but most impacts are angled, which can cause rotational motion to the head.

The rotational motion can
cause brain injuries.

The Low Friction Layer is intended to help reduce the rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts.

How it works:

Designed for ultimate endurance, the all-new Mips® Air Node Pro keeps you cool and dry — no distractions, no excess moisture. With reengineered materials, advanced smart-flow moisture channels, and removable pads, it’s built for riders who push the limits.

Where it’s used:

The Air Node Pro system provides omnidirectional movement with minimal changes to the original helmet. It pairs naturally with highly ventilated lightweight bike helmets, as the system itself adds practically no extra weight or volume.

Why Mips® Air Node Pro

When a helmet is impacted at an angle, it can cause the head to rotate suddenly and violently. This is a common source of concussions and brain injury.

The Mips® Air Node Pro system is designed to provide movement inside the helmet to help reduce rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts, thereby lowering the risk of such injuries. The system stays fixed until movement is needed, as it releases upon impact.

  • Next-gen cooling tech with COOLMAX® fabric to keep you cool and dry

  • Smart-flow moisture channels with drop zones keep moisture away from your face

  • Removable pads — quickly detach, rinse, dry, and reattach

  • Design to help divert rotational motion

The principle of the safety system

The Mips® safety system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful forces that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head
