Transitioning to full-time work

Moving from studying to full-time work was challenging at first, but after the initial adjustment, I found it more manageable than expected. Mips has been incredibly supportive, with mentors and colleagues who helped me navigate the steep learning curve and build confidence.

Learning on the job

Diving into helmet safety was new to me, but I quickly picked up the essentials. My ability to adapt and understand complex topics from my university days has been a huge asset here.

Growing with the team

At Mips, I’ve expanded my skills and learned to see helmet design and safety as a whole. Having a mentor early on was invaluable, and soon I realized the entire team was there to support me. Even my questions sometimes sparked valuable discussions in our niche field.

Overcoming challenges and growing

Imposter syndrome was a challenge, but the team’s encouragement and my drive to take on new projects helped me overcome it. Mips has been open to my growth, letting me explore areas I’m passionate about, like expanding our prototyping capabilities.

Looking ahead

I’m excited about contributing to product improvements and keeping our designs relevant and safe. Working across projects gives me a chance to see the real impact of our work and fuels my motivation.

Advice for new grads

Show enthusiasm and get things done. Mips offers a supportive environment where you can grow, learn, and make an impact right from the start.
