Complete integration

A premium solution for omnidirectional movement. Designed to help redirect rotational motion in angled impacts through an in-molded low-friction layer.

Traditional helmets are designed and tested for straight impacts, but most impacts are angled, which can cause rotational motion to the head.

The rotational motion can cause brain injuries.

The Low Friction Layer is intended to help reduce the rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts.

How it works:

The Mips® Integra Fuse system features a completely integrated low-friction layer molded to the inside surface of the energy-absorbing liner – allowing the comfort padding to slide upon angled impact. The patterned coating on the inner surface of the low-friction layer allows for controlled movement in all directions.

Where it’s used:

The Mips® Integra Fuse system is an integrated premium solution providing omnidirectional movement intended for added safety in angled impacts. The system is comfortable, durable, and adds no stack height to the helmet. It can be implemented in helmets used for biking, skiing and motor sports.

Why Mips® Integra Fuse

When a helmet is impacted at an angle, it can cause the head to rotate suddenly and violently. This is a common source of concussions and brain injury.

The Mips® Integra Fuse system is designed to provide movement inside the helmet, to help reduce the rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts, thereby lowering the risk of such injuries. Fused onto the energy-absorbing liner, this is a fully integrated system. It brings a solid sense of quality, while providing excellent gliding properties.

  • Fully integrated – fused onto the energy-absorbing liner.

  • Premium look and feel.

  • Optimized for ventilation, comfort and fit.

  • Designed to divert rotational motion.

The principle of the safety system

The Mips® safety system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful forces that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head.
