Mips Air Node

A low-friction layer for fully ventilated lightweight helmets.

Fasteners are designed to release at angled impacts to help redirect rotational motion.

How it works:

The Mips Air Node system is a low-friction layer laminated onto the base of the comfort padding. It’s connected to the energy-absorbing liner with nodes of hook-and-loop fabric touch fasteners. At angled impacts, the nodes are designed to release locally, allowing the padding to slide and reduce rotational motion to the head.

Where it’s used:

The Mips Air Node system provides omnidirectional movement with minimal changes to the original helmet. It is especially suitable for highly ventilated, lightweight helmets, as the system itself adds practically no extra weight or volume.
